Wood has always been valued for what it could become.
Furniture.
Architecture.
Objects designed to serve a purpose.
Over time, I found myself asking a different question.
What if the wood itself became the purpose?
That question began a fourteen-year pursuit of discovering how to present the material in a way I had never seen before. Through countless hours of experimentation and refinement, a distinct body of work gradually emerged—one I eventually named Wood Integrated Media.
Wood Integrated Media occupies its own place, drawing from painting, sculpture, craftsmanship, and architectural composition without belonging exclusively to any of them. Rather than asking the material to imitate something else, I became interested in revealing the grain, figure, color, and natural character already present within it.
Each composition begins with a new question—an opportunity to explore the material from a perspective I have yet to discover.

Falco Fiorentino represents an exploration of flight, structure, and the intersection between natural form and mechanical invention. The work was inspired in part by a lifelong fascination with the studies and inventions of Leonardo da Vinci, particularly his curiosity surrounding flight and the relationship between observation, engineering, and imagination.

This extraordinary spalted maple slab was discovered in the shape of a female torso. Although beautiful, much of the lower portion had been severely compromised by decay, making the piece as fragile as it was compelling.
Rather than conceal its history, I carefully reconstructed the damaged areas using traditional inlay and marquetry techniques, allowing the natural form to emerge while preserving the character that time had written into the wood.
The figure is suspended within a field of black resin bordered in white, creating the illusion that it quietly floats in space. Finished with a satin matte clear coat.

A followup to the previous image.

Construct No. 1 explores the quiet relationship between structure and intuition. Developed through a custom indexing system, each element was individually positioned before becoming part of the final composition, allowing the work to emerge through a sequence of deliberate decisions rather than predetermined geometry.
