To suspend the piece there's a single black pipe coming down for electrical distribution, and additionally four stainless black lengths of aircraft cable were used to level and lend support.
Low profile LED lights were used (2 per bay) for a total of 6. These lights also come with the ability to angle and rotate manually to adjust the beam. Lights are dimmable along with color temp. control using a smart phone app.

This is a custom fixture that spans the full length of the kitchen island which I also built. The timber used for each lamp came from a horse stall in Buffalo, South Dakota.
The LEDs cast a warm 3000K light, run cool to the touch and are dimmable. The inside of the bore on each lamp is fireproof coated and the tops are ported for continuous air-flow.
This reclaimed timber came with deep cracks and had to be stablized with resin prior to drilling the bore.
Choice material sourced through one of many national suppliers.
The idea is to take as little as possible off each side.
Large tenons installed for the glue up.
Sanded to .400 grit, then an application of 3 coats of oil finish.
Frame designed in CAD,. Next, fabrication & assembly at Montana Metal Art in Bozeman, MT.
